There are numerous sutlers and vendors in this hobby. Some are easier to find — others are difficult to track down. Just because you can find one on the first page of a Google search doesn’t mean it’s the best option either. Quality work to produce an authentic item is important to building a great impression!

Below is a list of sutlers we recommend doing business with or seeking items made by them to assemble your impression. The list is by no means exhaustive and is subject to change. Some sutlers and makers come and go while others endure. We strive to curate our list to reflect who is still in business and who is no longer making items.

All of our recommendations are based on two considerations: the quality and authenticity of their products and their quality of fair service. Some sutlers and makers are larger operations with more capability to offer in-stock items or faster turnaround times. Others may have waiting lists that take several months or even up to a year (or sometimes even more) to fulfill. Offering quality and authenticity can take more time depending on the scale of production and that has to be accounted for when making purchases. We do our best to consider these factors fairly – please understand that business with some sutlers and makers for certain items must be done with patience in mind. However, If a sutler or maker is egregiously falling behind and earning a reputation as one who doesn’t complete orders, or if their quality and authenticity standards are no longer up to par, we do our best to be aware of this and curate our recommendations accordingly.
