CWHI Directors and staff along with friends and family spent a December weekend in Historic Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia. They experienced an enjoyable first evening with a meal in town followed by an executive meeting, then spent Saturday touring Colonial Williamsburg’s historic buildings and gardens. The annual Christmas Illuminations fireworks program was a special treat! It was a great time learning, dressing out (some of us do more than the American Civil War), and spending quality time together as friends and historians.
While on our retreat to Williamsburg, several board members and family visited a local nursing home and rehabilitation center to bring Christmas gifts to residents and patients, marking our 10th year of giving back to community in this way. At that special time of the year, no matter where we are as an organization, we remember those in need of compassion and holiday cheer. Over 200 gifts were presented and additional gifts were left for distribution on Christmas Day!
