Slaughter Pen Farm | Fredericksburg, VA | December 10-11, 2022
The AVG joined the ranks of a host of units to portray Tar Heels at the Slaughter Pen Farm. Commemorating the 160th anniversary of the Battle of Fredericksburg on hallowed ground where the action actually happened was a sobering experience.
Activities included individual, company, and battalion drill, interpreting camp life to the public, recreating General Meade’s assault on Stonewall Jackson’s line along the RF&P Railroad, and representing the CS counterattack on December 13th, 1862.
